Olszowa [ɔlˈʂɔva] is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Kępno, within Kępno County, Greater Poland Voivodeship, in west-central Poland.[1] It lies approximately 5 kilometres (3 mi) east of Kępno and 145 km (90 mi) south-east of the regional capital Poznań.
The village has a population of 1,000.
Part of the Polish Second Republic, Olszowa was occupied by the Wehrmacht following the invasion of Poland and the outbreak of the Second World War in September 1939. Annexed by Nazi Germany, it was renamed Erlenbrunn until 1943 and then Erlenhöh until 1945. It was administered within Reichsgau Wartheland until the arrival of the Red Army and the end of the war. Following the war it became part of the People's Republic of Poland.
